About

The Quadra Island Outdoor Club was founded in 2013 to facilitate the enjoyment of this ideal environment for hiking, paddling and other activities.  The goals of the Club are the enjoyment of the out of doors, safety consciousness, respect for the environment, promotion of health and fitness, and companionship through outdoor activities.  It is an unincorporated, non-profit organization.  The club is a member of the Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC
(  mountainclubs.org ).

Participants in Club activities are expected to be self-sufficient and responsible for their own safety and well-being.  Members are responsible to bring adequate food, water, clothing and equipment on trips.  Be realistic about your abilities and be prepared.  The coordinator for a club trip is not a professional leader, guide or trained in first aid.  The function of the coordinator is to organize the trip.

Quadra Island is located in British Columbia to the east of Vancouver Island, at the north end of Georgia Strait (the Salish Sea) in the Discovery Islands.  It’s well located to take advantage of fresh water lakes, salt water bays, channels and inlets, forested trails, rocky bluffs with great views, varied flora and fauna, other islands,  and  Vancouver Island’s mountains and parks.  And there’s lots more to enjoy.
