This page is an effort to help hikers anticipate trail conditions. Outdated information on the internet is a plague, but it may not be possible for this page to always have current information. Please email to qioutdoorclub@gmail.com or use the comment page on this site, if you have more recent information about trails on Quadra.
As of summer 2025, not every trail had had annual maintenance, but most were in decent condition. Trail maintenance is usually done once a year and not after each storm. Be self-sufficient. Even better, offer to help the Trail Committee maintain the Quadra trails by calling 250-285-3897.
Trail Conditions of Consequence
South Chinese Mountain – For the creek crossing from the north side approach, the broken bridge has now (June 2025) been replaced by a culvert. Thanks to the Trail Committee volunteers for this major repair.
North Chinese Mountain – A short side trail to a northern viewpoint was added to this classic route in February 2024. The view is 180°.
Morte Lake Loop – The bridge in the Conservancy has been replaced. There is continuous work on this trail and nearby bike trails. In the winter of 2024 Nirvana was re-routed.
Nugedzi Lakes Trail – The bridge across Nugedzi Creek, which was removed in 2021, has been replaced as of June 2023. Thanks to the Trail Committee for all the work they did on this. It was big project.

Surge Narrows Trail – On February 11, 2023 the bridge on the Surge Narrows trail was replaced following the removal of the old bridge in 2021. The trailhead now begins at the upper parking lot with a newly developed section of trail to connect with the old trail.
Mt. Seymour Trail – This trailhead was closed during the winter of 2023 due to road construction and logging. If you choose to drive up the new logging road, there is now a parking area near where the trail leaves the logging road. The road is a bit rough, depending on your vehicle, so you may continue to park off the side of Granite Bay Road.
Kay du Bois – As of March 11, 2023, and more recently, substantial work has been done with drainage ditches and culverts to remediate wet areas on the trail at the south end. This is an ongoing project, with all of the bridges replaced by culverts as of Spring 2025.
Crikey Creek – A new logging road has cut through the Crikey Creek trail system and there is a cut block to the north as of April 2023. There has been significant trail restoration and culverts installed to cross the logging road.
