Description | We expect that Mt. Washington will open Dec 11th for alpine skiing. Snowshoe rentals will be available. They have snow now and next week is expected to be cold. The plan is to spend a few hours snowshoeing in the Paradise Meadows area, but the activity and the length of time may depend on the group. This is also dependent on the road conditions. |
Meeting Place | Quadra ferry terminal to Campbell River. Car pools should be arranged in advance. |
Departure Time | 9:00 ferry to Campbell River. Those taking cars need to be early enough to get on the 9:00 ferry. |
Difficulty |
Depends on the snow, but it’s the first trip of the year, so we won’t make it a marathon. |
Costs | Ferry and shared fuel. Snowshoe pass at Mt. Washington is $8. |
Trip limits | Availability of cars going up to Mt. Washington |
Dogs? | No |
Notes: | Bring equipment, warm clothing and lunch. |
